On 1June 2007, Jorge Ibarrola has started his legal practice devoted to advice and representation in the areas of sports legal and tax. 

Jorge Ibarrola graduated in law at the University of Lausanne and obtained the diploma of Master of Laws at McGill University (Montreal, 1994). He passed his bar exam in 1996 in Lausanne. Thereafter, he worked for four years as a tax adviser with the local Swiss tax authorities, a major Swiss bank and with one of the big four international accounting firms. In 2003, he joined the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) at the time that FIFA granted CAS the jurisdiction to rule on its disputes as an ultimate world instance. He has been a Counsel to the CAS for the last four years and has handled more than 400 arbitrations.  

Jorge Ibarrola applies his multidisciplinary knowledge to fulfil, in an efficient and innovative way, the ever-increasing legal and tax needs and expectations of those involved in sports worldwide. Athletes, agents, clubs, federations etc. benefit from his considerable experience in judicial, arbitral, contractual, disciplinary and statutory legal fields in sports law and in arbitration.  

Jorge Ibarrola's offices are located at the Maison du Sport Internationale, in Lausanne. Lausanne is home to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee and the CAS, as well as many international sports federations. This practice is also very close to other major international sports federations located in Switzerland, such as FIFA, UCI, FIBA and UEFA.
